The economics: how free gets paid
Run a free signal source like a business analyst for one minute and the incentives become visible:
- Funnel channels (Fat Pig, WolfxSignals, Binance Killers, Learn2Trade, Jacob Crypto Bury's free Discord) sell VIP seats. The free tier is an audition tape the provider edits. Conversion of even 1–2% of a six-figure audience funds the whole desk.
- Volume harvesters (exchange copy trading, Pionex, Margex-style built-ins) earn from your trading fees and profit shares. Their incentive is that you trade — a cleaner alignment than "that you subscribe", though still not "that you win".
- Attention businesses (Crypto Banter, Ash Crypto) monetize reach: sponsorships, referral deals, paid communities. The call itself is content. It costs them nothing to be wrong, which is exactly the level of accountability you should assign it.
- The library (TradingView community scripts) is genuinely free — and quality-unfiltered. A backtestable script beats a Telegram screenshot, but backtesting is your job.

Ash Crypto (5.9) is an influencer, not a signal service — 788k followers reading market commentary. Neither publishes an auditable call log. Treat both as sentiment input, never as an execution plan.
9–11. Funnel tiers that need extra skepticism
Binance Killers (5.8) runs the biggest free feed in crypto — 233k+ subscribers — with a documented 14-point gap between claimed (92%) and tracked (77.8%) win rates and a ~$290/month VIP waiting at the end of the funnel. Jacob Crypto Bury (5.7) offers a free Discord with a Whop-gated VIP — an influencer-community model rather than a track-record one. Learn2Trade (5.0) posts about three free signals weekly; its 1.9–2.6/5 Trustpilot record on billing complaints is the reason to enjoy the free tier and stop there. Thousands of community-built indicators fire buy/sell markers for nothing. Quality ranges from genuinely clever to curve-fit garbage — but unlike any Telegram call, every script can be backtested across years of data before you risk a cent.
